Multi-Zone Air Conditioning System

A zoned system divides your home into different temperature areas, each controlled by its own thermostat. Which means you can have more control over your home’s temperature and fewer arguments about the perfect thermostat setting. Also, you can use energy, because you only use your heating/cooling system where you are using it. When you compare it with when the whole house is heated and or cooled, we will notice a multi-zone system can save a huge amount of energy.
Some examples of heating and cooling challenges that a standard HVAC (one Furnace/AC for the whole house) can’t always handle.

  • The people living in the house argue about the best temperature to set the thermostat.
  • Upstairs constantly hotter than the living room in summer
  • Some rooms are cold in winter and remain hot in summer
  • Some areas in the house is over cooled in the house while some areas are still hot
  • The basement in winter is cold and in summer is always over-cooled.

To address all the above concerns and issues you need to refer to the Multi-Zone HVAC System. The main advantages of Multi-Zone HVAC System are as per following:

i- Systems are so Efficient

The compressors in most ducted systems only have two modes: on or off. Compressor start-up consumes a lot of energy, and it can be noisy, too. But the inverter technology inside every Carrier Ductless system lets the compressor continually adjust its speed to keep the room temperature where it should be.

So:   Less energy use,  Less noise,  More precise comfort.

ii- Efficiency
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is an efficiency rating, much like the MPG on a car. A Multi-Zone System can be as efficient as 42 SEER Ductless system. It talks by itself if you compare with the conventional AC units in absolute majority of houses which are usually SEER 13 to 15.

iii- Room-by-Room Comfort
With a Ductless system, you no longer need to overcool the whole house just to make an upstairs room more comfortable or turn up the heat to warm a basement playroom in the winter. Just room-by-room comfort and month to-month energy savings.

iv- Leading Heat Pump Technology
Now why not use a heat pump system, which is basically the same AC units but with the ability to heat the house in wintertime.  Carrier® introduces multi-zone systems which deliver comfort during extreme outdoor temperatures, with heating down to -22 degrees and cooling up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

v- Flexibility
With wide variety of indoor units to choose from, we as Carrier® expert can help to ensure maximum comfort and efficiency for your house.
